The evening starts with the pet parade at 4:00 before the food and games. All dogs and other animals welcome, costumes optional. Stuffed animals can be carried in the parade by anyone. Meet up with your pooch on Roma next to the park. After two laps of the park lead by our Grand Master Danny, urged on with lots of cheering and laughter, we ask that you take your pup home and then come back for more fun and food.
At 5pm begins a potluck dinner provided by neighbors*. Bring a dish if you can. DNA will provide drinks and some of our favorite dishes. It will be a neighborhood feast with neighbors sharing food with neighbors.
Music with live band will extend into the evening. Perhaps you’ll want to dance on the lawn!
Games for kids of all ages, plus free form painting for all ages, creating a mural by downtown neighbors. Don’t worry if you think you can’t paint, someone will be there to get you started. Games include but not limited to giant Jinga, corn hole, and apple bobbing.
Bring your own chairs or picnic blankets – and friends. If you can, bring a main dish, side, or a dessert to share.
*If you would like to team up with a DNA member to cook together, please contact Nancy at Magnussonnc@gmail.com. We think it will be fun to create in a kitchen, building community while making a dish for neighbors.

Rather than participate in National Night Out, held on the first Tuesday in August, your DNA board members concluded that August is too hot in Albuquerque to dance in the park, and that the night before school starts is not a good night to have a big party. So this year, we decided to host a block party in October instead!
